Liz Fitzgerald, originally trained in graphic design, taught visual arts for many years. Living on the Mornington Peninsula in Victoria provides her with endless inspiration.

Her artworks span figurative, imaginative, and abstract imagery, with a constant theme of the coastal environment, depicted in semi-realistic or abstract forms. She enjoys sketching outdoors and using these quick interpretations for later works. For her, painting is a process of revelation, balancing loose interpretation with considered mark-making. The immersive experience of painting often leads to the emergence and discovery of something unknown.
