Artist Statement: This is an abstract reflection on the vitality held within the natural world. Inspired by memories of the Murray River landscape where I grew up, the work draws on the layered colours of riverbeds, terracotta earth, softened sediment, exposed roots and the restless movement of life both seen and unseen. Root-like forms sweep through the painting as living structures, while scattered dots suggest insects, particles and the invisible energy that animates the landscape. This work speaks to connection, memory and place.
