Artist Statement: Midnight Starburst captures a moment of quiet explosion, where energy, colour and light collide against the stillness of night. Sweeping, layered strokes radiate outward like a starburst, evoking the bark and branching forms of a eucalyptus illuminated under moonlight. Rich blacks create depth and silence, allowing vibrant pinks, ochres, violets and blues to emerge with intensity and movement. The scattered white orbs suggest stars, seeds or sparks of possibility drifting through darkness. This work explores contrast and transformation, celebrating the beauty that unfolds when light breaks through shadow and motion emerges from stillness.
