Artist Statement: Rainbow Eucalyptus is inspired by the extraordinary beauty of the eucalyptus tree, whose bark naturally sheds to reveal layers of unexpected colour beneath. In this work, sweeping, organic forms move across a deep black ground, symbolising both strength and vulnerability, what is revealed only through change. Vibrant pinks, violets, blues and warm earth tones intersect like living veins, evoking growth, renewal and resilience. The scattered white markings suggest stars, seeds or moments of pause, reminders of quiet magic within chaos. This painting celebrates transformation, inviting the viewer to reflect on the beauty that emerges when we allow layers to fall away.
